I am going to create a trading system with Java, many questions to ask...
Hi everyone, here is the best java forum I have even found!
I am going to build a trading system with Java, and going to connect with the Interactive Broker API Java socket.
I plan to use ubuntu 64bits desktop as my development and real trading computer. I will use the latest 64 bits LTS desktop version.
I plan to buy a new intel computer with good single thread ability when I need to go live, since my plan is to make a system that I can trade first, if later the speed of the threading really matter then update the codes to muti-threading.
I plan to use Eclipse since it looks like the codes of gui would be more clean comparing to NetBeans. Within Eclipse, I plan to use swing instead of swt because if later I need to add some graphic plug-in to show graph, very likely the plug-in would be in swing and I can integer all graphic together.
database is not a must since I can store historical data in text file or excel, then just directly write codes in java to import those data to array and then do calculation. I may use mysql as database to store historical data, just easier to deal with mult tables case and better to manage data.
so what do you guys think?

My technical questions will come to this post when I start to work on the coding:(happy):
