Question A Java Exception Has Occured

Hi, I recently downloaded a sony PSP emulator on my Dell laptop 64 bit. When i opened the jpcsp0.2win(rev945).zip there is a file which I should double click in order for the emualtor to start but as you can see in the picture, when I double click it it shows this message. A Java Exception Has Occured-java.jpg
What can i do to make this file work? please reply.

I would think you should extract everything from the archive to a directory before starting up stuff?

Do you by any chance have an example for me as I am not really good with these kind of things. I extracted a file, when I did that a screen appears with the files you saw in the image i posted earlier, when i double click the required file it promted a message from Java. If you have an example for me that would be great or a quick explanation of how i should act from there would be reallu usefull and apreciated.

You should extract the zip-file (in Windows Explorer: right click -> extract to jpscp/ ), then I would guess you double click the batch file (jpscp0.2.bat) instead of the jar file. The website where you donwloaded it wouldn't have any instructions for running this?

Well yeah they did, it said to first double click the jar file, then double click the file you were talking about the jpscp0.2.bat file. but when i double tap the first one it prompts that java message and when i double tap the .bat file there prompts up which appears to be the emulator and within the second it dissapears again, reason probably because the first jar file doesnt work. im not sure what you mean by extract it in Windows Explorer because i already downloaded the file, but i seem to be having difficulties with Java, i did download the latest update, already removed and redownload it but that didnt work either.

This seems to be a PSP emulator? Can't you upgrade to the latest version (0.6)?

Find the file in Windows Explorer, right click it and let WinRAR extract this file to "here". This creates a directory "jpcsp..."-something. Go into that directory and amend the start-windows-x86.bat. It finds the Java executable in Program Files which is not always correct. Replace the path to java.exe with the one where YOUR java installation is done. Then double click the batch file. The zip file MUST BE EXTRACTED before you even think about doing anything with it.

Here's what you should be looking at when you open the3 cube sample:

okay so far so good, i am now at the part where you say that i have to replace the path. do you mean that i should type '.exe' behind the file start-windows-x86. as of now i have a window on my pc with the emulator and i opened up the location of where 'java' is on my computer and i have opened up the location of the jpcsp-1772-windows file. i am almost there, where do i go from here please?

No. The batch file ASSUMES you installed the JDK in Program Files. If you did that, fine, run it. If you didn't, modify the batchfile and replace the java call with your own. Here's mine:
    Java Code:
    set PATH=%PATH%;lib\;lib\windows-x86\
    c:\java\jdk1.7.0_09\bin\java -Xmx1024m -Djava.library.path=lib\windows-x86 -jar bin\jpcsp.jar
You can delete everything else form the rest of the batch file. This is enough to run it.
