Switching from paperwork to computers
Hi. I was wondering if it is possible to create a program or an app where I can select an item from a list of multiple choices and then select another item from another list of multiple choices. I then want to be able to use a card swiper to swipe an id card as a third input and have the two choices recorded including the time the card was swiped and the name associated with the card. How would I go about creating something like this? I haven't touched java since high school... Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Switching from paperwork to computers
I would start off one step at a time, possibly by making an arraylist of choices that are available, as for the cardreader, i have no idea, i know its possible but I am not that advanced yet. focus on one thing at a time and when you get to that part i would assume you would take an input just like a System.in does with keyboard inputs" and store it in probably a database with the choices.
