Hello,

This is my first post here and yes I am quite a beginner when it comes to Java. I took it last year in college so I have a bit of base knowledge but nothing to advanced.

Now, I know that I can communicate with the printer and send it something to print, but is there a controller or some type of structure I can use for communicating with a Scanner? I would like to be able to collect the information a scanner sends.

Unfortunately every time I search for Scanner when it comes to Java I end up with the Scanner class - dealing with strings etc... haha :D

Can anyone just point me in the right direction, possibly a link to something I can study?
