    Default InputStreamReader

    how to truncate InputStreamReader ....i ask it to read a char and is not finished till the enter key is struck....and it only stores first character ....this function does not truncate on keystroke .....it reads a charachter but program doesn't step till enter key....

    From the API:

    For top efficiency, consider wrapping an InputStreamReader within a BufferedReader

    Also, depending upon your requirements have you considered using Scanner?
