    Default Applet/Server

    Hey,

So pretty much all of the java applications I've made in the past were desktop applications. I've made a few basic applets and japplets, but never really implemented them on a webserver with a 'server' application. Not sure if I'm explaining this right, so an example of what I would like to do is say... people load my applet in their browser, and through that they chat to a backend application, which connects to all other people using that applet, and it would basically be a chat application. I have no idea how to set up such a thing. Any tips? or links to tutorials? Is it as simple as setting up a socket and sending messages between apps?

    Thanks for any help.
