    Default Eclipse is build on Java right?

    If eclipse is built on Java, then how can it be an executable? I know how to code in Java but donno how to create an executable program.

    The file eclipse.exe (in MS Windows) is a rather small executable file that tries to find a Java virtual machine; if found it starts it; the jvm in turn starts the main part of eclipse which is all written in Java.

    how to create an executable program.
    A class file with a proper main() method can be executed using the java command: java <CLASSNAME>
