Lightbulb How to run java web client in standalone client

Hello, first time to the forum.

I am currently playing a game called "Spiral Knights" using Mac OS X 10.6.8 with the latest Java. The game is launched through "kongregate.com" where it downloads client files to the User folder. The developer also offers a stand alone client for download. According to this thread on the last post, [Moderator edit: irrelevant link removed] it is possible to somehow create a shortcut to allow a user to run the stand alone client without having to have the website open etc. Any idea on how this would be accomplished? Can you simply copy something from the Java console in the web startup and edit a .plist file in the stand alone client?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This is not the fix any and all things Java site, but rather a forum to help programmers create Java applications. Your question is off topic. Why not ask the developer this question?

The developer refuses to help or provide any information on how to use the Kongregate login information on their stand alone client, and Kongregate refuses to give out the login information that would allow me to login to the stand alone client. Everyone from Kongregate has been discussing this issue for awhile and I would just like to see if it's possible to bypass Kongregate.

I'm not asking for help with fixing Java, but simply help with how to write a script of some sort that would allow this. So...I would be in a way creating a Java app that uses Kongs info for Spiral Knights server login. I found some useful info on how Kong authenticates its users to the developer, but I don't know where or how to apply the information in the Java app.

Again, any ideas or anything really would help.

The scripts on that page in your link are JavaScript and aren't even Java. I'm closing this thread as it doesn't even deal with the same programming language. Consider learning JavaScript and trying to write your own script for this, but please understand that this doesn't even relate to the Java programming language since it is completely different from JavaScript. If you need help in your efforts to learn JavaScript, there are many good forums available for this, and Google can help you find them, but again, please search for JavaScript forums, not Java forums.

    Locking this thread.
