Eclipse Netbeans help

Ok. I know a very little bit of Java, I was using Eclipse, Stanford. Then a friend said, try Netbeans. Ok. I installed. There are a couple of things I haven't yet figured out, like how to actually view the output...
So I set it aside and tried to go back to Eclipse, until my friend and I get together again, but Eclipse doesn't work anymore, it just comes up as an error message... and I can't understand the log...
I installed a new Java package along with Netbeans...

Any ideas?

NetBeans comes with extensive online help. Learn to use it.

For this time, I'll tell you: Window -> Output -> Output

If you are beginner I suggest stick to learn on Eclipse and don't waste on time on Netbeans or vice-versa. any of those IDE is enough to learn Java.

Thankyou for your replies. I agree javin I think you are right. The last thing I want to be focusing my efforts on is learning a new IDE. I am familiar with Eclipse and have been happy. I have now reinstalled it successfully.
