Game running far too fast on friend's computer
I think it's because his computer is much faster, but I'm not sure. Does anyone know what I can do? (It runs at a perfect speed on my computer. I'm running Vista, he probably has 7)
Here's the information you'll need:
- I'm using A JFrame with a JPanel over it
- I'm using moving rectangles
Thanks everyone,
-Adam

Re: Game running far too fast on friend's computer
Have a look at the Timer class in the javax.swing package and make all your screen/window updates timed. You have to experiment a bit with the time intervals.

Re: Game running far too fast on friend's computer
I'm reminded of Digger. Lovely game on the PC/XT with a 8 MHz / 4.77 MHz switch on the back of the cabinet, but 16 MHz killed it. I don't think it was ever redeveloped with a timer to be independent of processor speed.
