Help with sending data?

I need a way to send data (probably in the form of a string) to an external source like a different computer from an application. At the moment the application can get what it needs to send but has no way of actually sending it.

Hopefully someone will be able to help me but if your unsure of what I mean then I will try to explain it better

Have you gone to the Java tutorials and looked this up? Check out the Custom Networking section.

Yes, but I don't really get how to use sockets.

My experience here has been that we do much better at answering specific questions than general ones. Please consider going through the tutorials again, and then if you run into a portion that confuses you, come back with your specific question(s) and code if possible.
