    Default Java Error coming up

Hi, i'm not sure where this should be posted. We are running Windows Server and this error has recently been coming up. We've also been having issues with our faxes that we usually have sent to one of our company email addresses.

    This is the error:

    `C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\lib\i386\jvm.cfg`

I looked around on this forum for this issue, but I only found one thing that won't affect me.

We run a program called OfficeMate on all our work stations as our main program. If you need more details, let us know.

    This is the error:

    `C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\lib\i386\jvm.cfg`
What kind of error is that? It looks like the path to a file.
If you don't understand my response, don't ignore it, ask a question.

How can I find out what kind of error it is? I do not know too much about servers.

It says it's from the Java Virtutal Machine Launcher, if that helps.

It looks more like debug output than an error message.
Have you tried opening the file shown in the message? Its contents on my machine from wordpad:

I went and tried to open the file, but it wasn't there! Could it have accidently been erased? If so, how could I get it back? I opened the lib file, but there was no i386 after that.

That file configures the Java Virtual Machine; here's my configuration file (for an amd 64 bit machine):

    Java Code:
    -server KNOWN
    -client IGNORE
    -hotspot ALIASED_TO -server
    -classic WARN
    -native ERROR
    -green ERROR
I left out the top few lines. The file is supposed to be stored in directory JRE/lib/ARCH where JRE is the top level directory of the JRE installation and ARCH is the name of the architecture of your machine (i386, amd64 etc.) I think the easiest way to solve this issue is copy this file from another installation and don't fiddle with those flag values.

    kind regards,

So it should be the same for all machines? So I can just copy it from a flash drive from one machine to another?

Probably; pay attention to stick that file in the correct subdirectory (i486, amd64 etc).

The printing out of the path to a file doesn't look like an error message. Are you sure there isn't an error message somewhere you are missing?
How do you start execution of the java program? Can you start it in a command prompt so any error messages will be shown on the console?
If you don't understand my response, don't ignore it, ask a question.

I haven't noticed an error message anywhere on our machine.

When I open up our file on my machine (which is working fine)

Well, that fixed the error message that kept coming up, so thank you guys! Not sure if this fixes our other issues, but that'd be for a different forum.
