Advice / Input needed

Hey all

I'm not entirely new to Java but I thought I'd post here as I'm new to this idea.

I'm creating a mobile application and part of its functionality is to include a link to a forum. So the user will, lets say, play a game and receive a score. They then should be able to click on a button "Forum" that will take them to www.sitename.com/forum

My question is, what would be the best way to implement such a system. Should I create a Java Applet and then integrate it into a .html? In terms of authentication, posting new threads etc, what would be the best option? I will need to implement the forum from scratch.

Maybe the Desktop class can be of help (it can launch your system's browser, given a URL).
