Default Want to run .class file

I am playing minecraft and would like to add a "mod" to it, the mod contains .class files which I don't know how to open/run. Right now a program called VLC is trying to open it and VLC is a media player. I looked up .class files on Google and it says it's java. So I would like to know is how do I get java to open all my .class files, and if I can't then what else on my computer can I use ?

I am using windows 7 Home Premium

Also I am very laymen when it comes to computers so if you could help me and not talk "techie" that would be very helpful thanks.

If you're forever cleaning cobwebs, it's time to get rid of the spiders.

Check out the java.exe command for executing .class files
If you don't understand my response, don't ignore it, ask a question.
