    Default Is Java SE7 a sensible choice

    I've decided to learn Java and I'm particularly interested in using java on the desktop (Apple) and have heard that since Oracle has taken Java under its wing. The roadmap points more at the client-side. The last thing I want to do is invest my time in a language which has not future for desk side development with a reasonable GUI.

    What about FX is this a bolt-on for developing desktop apps.
