In any Web pages if i want to capture the value of certain web elements, how to go about it?
One option i have is to install the firebug add-on and then from there we can get the xpath for each web elements and from that we can trace and capture the value of web elements. But for any messagetextbox how to trace this xpath?

I think you can download the content of this page that you want to screen scrapping, and then use the XPath to query the context you are interested in.

For instance you can download the html file from the server, this can be done by using the java.net.URLConnection. Then you can process the file locally to find the section that you want to read.
