    Default Java and audio output

Hello. So far, in learning about Java, I am only able to get the computer to print out a message.

I would like to try and write an application that will output two audio tones of different pitches. What java class or java utility do I need to learn about in order to accomplish such a task?

    Thank you. hmb

Funnily enough I've been lloking into sound synthesis in Java just this past few days.
Here's a look at it on a Stack Overflow thread.
There's some links to packages as well, but try the example at the top first.

Hello. Thanks for your reply. I will try it out.

At this time, I don't need note synthesis or sampling. I am happy to simply have the computer play back a pre-recorded tone (i.e play back a .wav file - it is no big deal to save a .wav file to disk and then access it a needed).

If you've got wav files that's even easier.
Applets have AudioClips I think, or there is simply the Java Sound API.
Here's the guide to that one.
