    Question Java Runtime Missing

I have a Mac OS X 10.7. A while ago I may have accidentally deleted an important file. When I try to "open this Java application, you need to install a Java runtime." The system automatically launches a Software Update. But after ten minutes of searching, "The software is currently unavailable." Any help would be much appreciated.

This forum is for community self help to those learning and programming in Java. It is not a general helpdesk for all things related to Java.

That said, you should be able to get support from wherever you bought the laptop, or from Apple.

If you deleted important files, then who knows what else is broken. If you have time machine, restore your machine with that to the point before you broke it, or restore specifically the missing files. If you don't use time machine, you can repair your OS install from either your Lion disc, or from the Lion recovery partition already on your HD.
