    Default What does it mean to be signed and unsigned?

    Can't find anything from google. Any simple explanation / help ?

    If you are referring to signed and unsigned int, float, double, etc., all are signed in Java besides char.
    If you aren't programming in Java, well that's just too bad.
    I'd rather be using Ubuntu.

    @stchman Yes I am reffering to signed and unsigned int,float.. But what does it mean them to be signed ?

    Signed integers are just that, signed. An unsigned integer cannot be negative, so unsigned integers are positive integers only. A signed integers can be positive or negative.
    If you aren't programming in Java, well that's just too bad.
    I'd rather be using Ubuntu.

    I think unsigned variables are used when working with bits/hex-stuff, right?
