    Default A question on CLASSPATH

    Hi,

    My classpath is only .;

    I can compile and run a java program which imports java.util.Scanner and creates a Scanner object.

    How do I do that, without having a Classpath that is pointing to all the classes that come with Java ? ( where is the util/Scanner.class anyway? )

    The classpath specifies stuff that's outside the standard JRE (third party libraries, jars, your classes, whatever). Scanner is in the JRE. I believe it's in rt.jar, if you really want to know exactly where it is.
