Default How erase project from Eclipse

've imported a project to Eclipse, but later deleted it. Now I want to import it again, but Eclipse says that it cannot be imported because it already exists. There's no folder with the project name in my workspace. I've restarted Eclipse. What can I do to get rid of this ghost project and import it again?

I did it right now, all projects. Didn't help though.

    Btw, I use:
File / Import / Existing Projects into Workspace

You may need to exit Eclipse and restart it after doing this.

    Didn't help either.
But I've created a new workspace and could import the project to that one without problem.

I suffer most sever problems with file handling in Eclipse. After some time of typing, Eclipse refuses to delete or find files. Some of those times Eclipse automatically creates a twin folder (i.e. a second folder in same root with same name) which is empty.

Shouldn't one use "Refactor/Rename" on the right click menu in the project explorer view? And Delete on same menu?

I do work with Android, and the problems are typically with .xml files refered to from .java files, but I also had file management problems with an entire project which doesn't seem to be Android specific.

Whatever could I do to make necessary simple file handling work in Eclipse??? Programming is impossible without it.
Is there for example some hidden file register one could edit manually to remove files?

Okay, this particular time it was the famous "import android.R;" bug which Eclipse always sneaks into my java files. I.e. it replaces the path to my package resources with default system resources. Still that doesn't fully explain why files cannot be deleted. "Problems encountered" is the information (NOT!) error message when trying.

My general problems with file management are bigger than the import statement. So any hint on how to learn to control file management in Eclipse is still very appreciated!
