    Default Why is there an error message of the "append" ?

    Why is there an error message of the "append" ?-help.png

    Why is there a red line under the word "append"?
    this only occurred when i used jTextField. If i used jTextArea, there are no red lines under "append"

    Please help me. I had stuck at this for hours.

    Read the API. There is no such method for JTextField since it is designed to support a single line of text. This is a convenience method for a JTextArea only.

    You mean the API specification?
    I did read the api, but i couldn't understand the information there..

    That's a skill that you must hone then since without it you will fail. You simply look to see in the API if the method exists, and as camickr has told you, it does not exist for that class -- so you can't use it.
