    Default Deploying Servlets

    Hi,

I have created a servlet named MyServlet. I placed its class file into
    \jakarta-tomcat-5.0.19\webapps\firstservlet\WEB-INF\classes\.

The tomcat is running but I am not able to access the Servlet. Should I use WAR file or what?

    Thanks in advance.

Do you have web.xml inside WEB-INF .. ? You need to write this deployment descriptor and place inside WEB-INF...

Thanks roots. I was not putting the deployment descriptor in the WEB-INF. I rea a tutorial and fixed it.

Thanks mate for pointing out the problem area.
