    I didn't see that, sorry. I took away the animation.init(); because it wasn't doing anything.

    Your compiler is not telling you about errors in your code.
    Check for an if with an empty statement:
    if(<the condition>);

    Would using printlns be the only way for me to find errors?

    I have looked through all if statements and I have not found a empty if statement.

    Misread what you typed. I have found it, will be fixing it now.
