    Default centering list view in adroid app

    i have a list that sorts bookings by date.

    when i view the bookings i want todays booking to be at the top of the view and future bookings below..
    but if i scroll the screen up i want to be able to see the previous bookings.

    see the image attached if you are not sure what i mean.

    its there a way of doing this in java and can anybody point me to a good website that will give me an understanding of how to do it.
