    Default Extremly new to java

Well hey i have taken a interest in java last few days , over something that i just cant work out.
what it was is a java.jar , i went to a web site and a java (application popped up )
so was interested in why it was asking me to run it ,
it turned out to be a download for what i was after from the web site at the time..

so i ended up saving the web page , (save as)
and in that process it showed a java.jar file .. after the page got saved (html page)

this has got me puzzeld which has led me to here ,

i actually scanned the java.jar file and it said it was a virus ,
it showed on virustotal site 22/35 for infections ..

but then in the last few days i have been reading up on this and everyone says its not a virus.
as this does not execute as such .

if any one can explain , sorry if im not making sense but this is my first thread and i have no experinece in java at all !..

    What is the website?

Do you have Java installed on your computer? Are you able to run other jars?

Its just a java archive file. It's essentially a zip, doesnt execute. Just used to aggregate all your source files for a program together into one place

ok so why does this show up like this the .jar file when i have scanned it ??
i no its not a virus but from what i have been reading people , re-code these (to make them) fully undeteced by antivirus companies ..

I dont undesrtand why they become detected if there not a virus
and why do people recode these to make the undeteced

This is scanned result of the actuall .jar file
