Java Update Fails
I am trying to install latest Java update (29) but Windows blocks the installation saying the .msi has unknown publisher.
The full notice: Java Platform SE binary - Security Warning
Name: jre1.6.0_29-pfrom27.msi
Publisher: Unknown Publisher
Can anyone offer a reason for this and how to remedy.
Thanks.

Re: Java Update Fails
Thanks Milovan for getting back to me.
I'm running Win 7 64-bit. All up to date windows updates. All Java updates thru 27 installed fine.
Tried the update notification that pops up; tried downloading directly from the Java website, saving to desktop and running.
Each time get the same notice. When I looked into the .msi properties the certificate is listed and verified but the install still doesn't go thru.

Re: Java Update Fails
I haven't used Win 7 enough, have you tried right clicking on the .msi and running as administrator? Not sure if that'll make a difference or not.

Re: Java Update Fails
I downloaded the file and tried running as administrator. Didn't work. Checking the files credentials shows everything to be in order. For some reason Windows security steps in and stops the install. Wish there was some way of circumventing Windows security or at least putting the file into a "whitelist" to allow it to run. Never had this problem before with Java installs. Wonder if it has anything to do with previous windows security updates. I'll keep trying and searching other forums for answers. Thanks.

Re: Java Update Fails
Update: I was able to download and install the 64 bit version but I am using a 32 bit browser. The downloaded executable works and is digitally signed. So, the problem is with the resulting .msi. I'm sure I'm not the only one with this issue. Doesn't anyone have any ideas?
