Default Question about object passing to a method? My VOCAB sucks

In JAVA, When an object is passed to a method, the objectís data is copied into a method parameter.

If this is false can you tell me why?

In Java you pass the value of reference variables - the method gets a copy of this value. You don't pass objects.

A more or less standard account of this is to be found at JavaRanch Campfire - Pass By Value, Please
