    Default Math knowledge?

Afaik, a good programmer need to be very good at math.
    Is this true?
Do you(who is a professional programmer) use your math skills in programming?
Note I am talking about university-level math.

From what I hear yes, math is very common in programming. However, if you don't know something Google is a really good friend!! :)

I don't agree that super-advanced math knowledge is necessary to be a good general coder. Math and logic common sense yes, but advanced knowledge, no. Of course this gets all turned around if you're talking about creating specialized scientific, statistical, or other similar types of software.

caveat: I'm a non-professional, so weigh a professional's opinion much higher than mine.

It depends largely on what it is you're programming. In general, however, I think that it's not so much that the math knowledge is required for programming, it's more that people who are good at math tend to be good at programming too, as they involve similar ways of thinking.
