    Default whats the difference between opening a file by double clicking it or with java?

    I have a program that opens an .html file, but it opens differently when I open it with the program and when I open it manually by double clicking the file. Is there a reason this is happening?

    What program is used to open a file when it is clicked on is determined by the OS.
    Does the OS use your program to open the file or does it use another program?
