Thread: java error

    Default java error

    i got this error when i tried to install java, i also tried to reinstall it and got the same error

    Tried a clean install? (and maybe a cleaner desktop)

    My sister had a fridge magnet that said "Whoever dies with the most fridge magnets wins!"

    I think OP is doing the equivalent with icons. I wonder if they have considered using virtual desktops.

    If by clean install you mean,not reinstalling it, uninstall it then install it again, I can't because I get the same error when I uninstall

    I would go to "C:\Program Files\Java\jdk*\bin" and delete "awt.dll", and then retry the uninstall. If that didn't work, I'd delete the whole "C:\Program Files\Java\jdkXXXX" directory. I'm not saying that doing so is really correct, or completely safe; I'm a crazy man.

    Dude have DLL:s, fonts and configuration files on your deskop.
    Did you install a program directly to the desktop.


    I assumed that was I update, but seeing JeffGrigg's posts, I understand that is also can be an uninstallation.

    Is it an update, repair, uninstallation or reinstallation (reinstalling current local version)?
