Default How to run another program from within java coded game?

I am quite new to java and only know a few basics, the game that i mentioned in the title just happens to be minecraft (Yes, i know im a little too old :D). What i am trying to do is develop a mod in which allows users to run a server from within the game rather than the hassle of running it outside of it. If anyone could help it would be much appreciated :)

    Thanks in advance!

So you're asking for a partner in crime? I can't speak for everyone here, but I know the majority of us probably will not be as enthused to devote ourselves to this project. However if you have coding problems I'm sure you could find some help with your code problems here.

Does Minecraft have an API? Maybe something to help you find the areas you're looking for?

I'm not going to lie, you're probably jumping into the deep end without learning to swim without floaties first. Minecraft is a HUGE project with all sorts of complex coding, you're braver than I to attempt such a feat.

Well since it's open sourced I would expect that it is very well documented inside the classes.

I wouldn't worry about the young kids, developing brains are designed better to accept information than older already developed brains.
