    Default Problem with JAVA JRE 6 Update 26

    I have uninstalled an old version of Java and then Installed the latest version JRE 6 Update 26. I thought this version was installed sucessfully however it is not.

    It is not appearing in the Add remove programs list.

    Now when I go to install the version again it says it is installed however its seems like it is not. I have attached two pictures.

    Can anyone help me please?

    Try using this software to uninstall it. Its a very powerful tool so be careful using it.

    It can remove things better than the standard add/remove programs.

    No but I dont want the JDK work all i want to get working is the JRE

    So you're saying you just wanted to update your JRE? I'm pretty sure the JRE has an update feature in it already, all you have to do it let it download the updates.

    Thanks for the help.

    Yeah I think it does, however I was advised to uninstall the JRE and then install the latest.. Incorrectly.
    I have now used the YL Software - WinUtilities Free Edition, it did not find JAVA. Anyway I did clean up the registery, still no luck reinstalling JAVA. I get the same errors.
    Any other help would be fantastic because I am at a loss.
