hello
hi guyz
my name is satish i need some help in my assignment..this is the title

you are required to write a simple HTTP client that gets as input a given URL, retrieves the corresponding page, and returns the list of all words and their occurences in the requested page sorted by the number of occurences..

hi
thx for the reply...but i know it sounds crazy...from start till end..doesnt sound good doesnt it...im majoring in networkings so i was given 3 assignments 1 was a auction server which i manage 2 do..but i really dont know how 2 do this..i tried all kind of sources.

You need to check on your sources then... allow me to give you some correct sources: java html parser - Google Search

Connect to the webpage. Use one of those million parsers to strip all the html tags from the page, then count the words.

There are a million ways to do this. And if its an assignment, i am pretty sure your teacher knows what he is doing but assigning you this.
