How to make a program flash if it isnt in focus

Hi , i am creating a simple chat program in java.

When the program receives a message but isnt the main program in focus on the screen i would like it to flash on the taskbar so that the user knows there is a new message.

I have searched and cannot find anything, can someone help me please .

Window (Java Platform SE 6) ?

thanks i see the isFocused will be useful but is there a method to make the app flash in the taskbar
