I need to figure out how to write it entirely, I need help because its an alternate assignment for school and we havent learned much about arrays and the stuff listed in the problem

As far as getting started, take baby steps. Don't look at the whole assignment and go "I don't know how to do this". Try and break it down into smaller and smaller parts and attempt each small part. I assume you know how to do things like if statements and loops, then you can most likely break the assignment down to a point where you need to write a loop. Then do that and test it before moving onto the next step.
