Default Disk Space Checker for Windows and Linux remotely.

    Hi Friends,

I am currently working on a project wherein the requirement is to check disk space for remote systems.

This is how it should work.

    1. There will be a file named File.txt on every host which contains hostname, username and password and also whether its linux or windows (if its linux, drive parameter will be commented or else it will be like - c:)

    2. Our program should be in .jar format and when run, it will automatically connect to relevant file on the system and now check the drive for free space with some threshold value.

    Kindly help!!

    Thanks and Rgds,
    Pradeep

Every host should be a server that checks its file system for the free space (at that very moment); your program should be a client consulting all those servers; that way you don't need that little file on every host/server. b.t.w. there's also Smb and network disk and NFS ...

    kind regards,

    Jos

    Hi Jos,

    Thanks for your reply.

The idea of this program is I am trying to build a wrapper for another project where in above requirement will work as a PRECHECK.

If the disk space is sufficient then the task will proceed else it will just throw an error that its less than threshold value.

I am new to Java Programming word. It would be really helpful if some suggestions is made.

    Thanks and Rgds,
    Pradeep
