drop down menu newbie

Hi,

first time trying to create a drop down menu for example the user will have a drop down from 1 to 3 and based on the number he will get a message like "cheap", "normal", "expensive"

Can someone please instruct how to achieve this or direct me to an easy to understand example ?

Sounds like you want a JComboBox. Go to the Java API and read about this class. There is also a link to a "how to" guide.
