Where can I create sound for a computer game?

I am making a computer game in Java. I need to make a background music for my game. Can someone recommend me a nice program where I can make music for free? I dont want to pirate other game's music because then it will decrease the moral value of my game. so i want to make my own music. I dont have money to buy from real life or online cause i am a high schooler so a free software will be deeply appreciated.

Oh Ps: I do not have any knowledge about music. I dont know how what instruments make what noises etc. so it needs to be basic. I know this is kind of off topic but i thought since you guys do this kind of stuff frequently, you might know a site.

Have you searched the net? What results did you get and why were those unsiotable to your need?

Have a look at jFugue; it can be as simple or complex as you want.
