THIS FORUM ROCKS! hehehe. Thanks Goldest, ya that was a pretty amazing link find you had there. It covered exactly the things I needed , which was pretty weird. hehe. I am cruising through the section on "numbers and statics" and it is pretty easy compared to the "constructors" chapter. Thank you GOD. LOL.DDD:D

Since the Head First Java book is so popular, I wonder if they should have a separate section on the forum like this "Books->Head First Java Questions".

Everything that falls into the category of that would also fall into the topic of new to java. Head first java only briefly works on the more difficult topics.

Ya you are right. Also sunde887, do you know if there is a book or books that cover all of the topics listed at this link please? I got it from your blog. The first link you give on Java for people. I like to read books on my bed.

That book doesn't cover all the stuff in the Really Big Index.
There's a reason it's called Really Big. There's more stuff there than you could squeeze into a single book.

The old tutorial book was two volumes, and that didn't cover everything now in the list.

Ok thanks, ya I guess I am going to have to start learning online after I read the books (I didn't buy the Tutorial book after I realized it was not the whole Index). That really big index is probably going to be after I finish Head First Java, and 2 other books I bought. But when I saw all that was covered in the Big Index. I was like WHOA. the mother of all Java info places. Thanks for putting it on your blog.:D

    Java itself is quite small.
    The API is big.
But if you're not going to do database work, or web work, or Swing GUI work, etc etc then a lot of that index isn't needed.
