C++ programmer wants to learn java very fast...

So I understand general OO programming priciples and I want to ramp up very quickly on j2ee. There is ALOT of stuff out there (tutorial, online classes etc...).

Im starting with a simple Java tutorial.

My question is what tutorails are the new to java programmers using therse days???

I used google. Im trying to get a more thatn entry level proficient rating from an online skills evaluation firm in a short amount of time... My guess is that I can get language basic pretty quicky and oo concepts. As far as froamework knowledge (Like j2ee, ejb, interfacing with data bases, etc...), im thinking that stuff is not learnable in a short timeframe...

As already pointed out, tutorials from the company that made Java are very good and specifically, for J2EE.

If you're willing to buy a book, i highly recommend Java Concepts (4th Edition) by Cay Horstmann. I got it this September, and I read the entire book, and I now know Java pretty damn well. It's a great book because, each section explains a concept, and then has a sample program that puts this new concept to work. It's also good because whenever a new syntax is introduced, it gives you the general structure of it.
