    Default mail content are not encoded as per content-transfer- encoding

    down vote favorite

    I'm constricting Message object using javamail api. I'm just constructing the text/plain message. To set the content in the message object,

    message.setContent(content,"text/plain; charset=UTF-8");

    I'm not sending the message object using Transport.send. Returning the message object. In returned object it contains Content-Transfer-Encoding as quoted-printable. But the content in the returned object is not encoded. It is still in 8 bit(raw character).how to solve this.

    Please help.
