I want to work from home
Hi, I have some basic experience of the principles of object oriented programming and programmed a text rpg a few years ago in C++. I don't remember a thing. I have a few questions. Any advice GREATLY appreciated.
1- I want to work from home programming in java, is this possible? and where do I find work please? Odesk.com?
2- Should I learn C++ before java. Where should I start and are there any good books to read, like the best, for both. I have a college degree in art, I can't go back right now to school, can I still get hired?
3-Is there a specific area of Java programming that is most in demand so that I have a good chance of receiving a liveable income from programming (not rich just liveable, out of poverty). And how long do you think it would take to become good enough to get a job with programming in java please.
Thank you very much in advance for any help! Derek:)

Sure you can work at home. if you had not good skills in this area you will have to hard learn first. Then you will be able to find some remote job.
But it is easiest case if you found some job in your cite and try to hire.Skype: petrarsentev

I have only done free websites for people in the past using a tiny bit of php, html, and css. I work in the security field right now and want to get out of it.

thank you! does that mean I should get my jobs through odesk? or did you mean I should find something better than odesk please? should I do craigslist ? or odesk mainly. thank you very much for your answers. you give me hope, as I have a disability and do not want to work in an office, I have to work from home. so thank you.

I mean that odesk is best resource for it. Sometime I get some projects there. My friends work there too. But for you is many useful if you start work in office. That way you can get more experiences then work at home.
edit :
How I understand you have native English and big plus for you. because many vacancy require a good communicate skills.Last edited by Petr; 04-18-2011 at 02:00 PM.
