Hi,
I have been using windows XP for so long time. A few days back I had to switch my system from windows XP to Windows 7. All my programs works well except the programs about Date and Time. What happening is the time difference between windows Xp and 7 is about five and half hours. Cause of this, I am not able to use programs written by myself. I tried out lot of things but not able to fix this so far.
Hope you guys face this kind of problem. Please let me know the solution.
Why can't you use the programs? Are you getting errors? What do you mean the time difference between Windows XP and 7 is about five and a half hours? As far as I know theres nothing different between the XP and 7 time feature in the OS. Are you sure you set your system clock to the correct time?

I am not getting any error.But new Date() prints the current date and time what I have assigned in my system clock in XP wheras windows 7 prints time which is 5.30 hrs before the current time of our system.
Are you sure the System Time on Windows 7 is set correctly? Because I have Windows 7 and everything works fine for me.
I am pretty sure that my system clock shows the time 10.30 am but my Java program shows the time 5.00 am..
Well this is weird. Either your computer's screwed up or you're doing something wrong.
I guess i better analyse this problem with Windows 7 system admin.

Um, you have to restart your computer and while its loading there should be something on the bottom of your screen that says "Press <key> to enter startup" or "Press <key> to enter bios" Something like that.
The key is different depending on the manufacturer of your computer. Mine personally is ESC.
After you load into the bios there should be a tab in there with the label of time or clock. Don't change any settings in there, only look for the time portion. If you change any of your bios settings you should exit without saving.
Once you find the time section of your bios settings, compare it to your local time and then change it accordingly.

On most computers it's F2 to get into BIOS.
Check the system's time zone.
