    Default Java applets through proxy

Is it possible to run java applets through an HTTP proxy or do I have to run it through a SOCKS proxy. I need to know since I want to test my apps on an external server, and wondering if it will work through HTTP.

I'm trying it through this applet here:

RuneScape - The Number 1 Free Multiplayer Game

I'm running Ubuntu 10.10, and I have tried editing several net.properties files to make it work but nothing yet.

Before you go ahead and judge I am actually developing an applet for an external server and it is not working, I'm not trying to make this game work. I need to be sure it will work through the proxy before I go ahead and invest in server space considering tomcat hosting is rather expensive.

With the Windows basic proxies it works fine. I don't have a Linux machine at the moment to test it out.

Didn't you try to debug the code?

Is there any way to debug through firefox or chrome, because I tested it and it worked fine. No server side issues.
