    Default Need help with some simple java stuff...

    I never mess with java, but what I need seems like a pretty basic thing to do. Heres what I need help with.

    I have a text box and enter button I just need it to display different results for a certain input range.

    For example lets say I want the person to enter results 1-100, but I only want to display 10 different results 1-10, 11-20, 21-30, etc.

    can someone help me with a code to do this?

    As stated previously, we will help you, but not do it for you. Show an attempt and we will try and push you in the correct direction.

    Oh sorry, i have some code already I just didn't know if it would actually help understand what i was looking for.

    heres what i got so far.

    my text box and enter code

    <input type="text" id="txtSearch" />
    <input type="button" id="btnSearch" value="Enter" onclick="doSomething();" />

    but how do i tie the above in with a java code that will do something like this

    if(e.keyCode < 10) {do something
    }
    else
    if(e.keyCode < 20) {do this
    }

    I think i understand how to do everything i just dont know the code know how to put it all together to work properly.

    Create a JFrame containing JButton and to perform the job pressing on the button use actionlistener.

    Hmm maybe java isn't the best way to do this. I thought maybe java would be the simplest way to do this but php probably is right?

    if this is a 2-3 minute fix why cant you help me figure it out? You've done nothing to help except sit here and tell me I dont know java, No shit idiot. I am a webmaster not a programmer. I'd love to learn more about java but this is a 5 min fix. I am not going to read a book on java to fix a 5 minute fix. Thats why i am here.

    Did you read the forum you are in? "New To Java"

    That means little to no experience. So I don't know why you come in here parading around like a pompous little indian dickhead like your a java god. I am sure your one of millions in your shithole country. Your nothing special so get off your high elephant.
