If that database engine has a JDBC driver available simply use it (I'm sure it comes with documentation). The JDBC interfaces abstract away from the actual database in use so the JDBC documentation will be all that you need.

    kind regards,

You'll need to ask your host provider whether they are allowing external access to that MySQL database.
    Many of them do not.

If they do allow it, you then need to set the privileges for the database login you are using to allow it to be logged on from your machine (your IP)...or an IP range. This will be doable via your admin screens, usually.
