Default Non resizable java windows turn black

    Greetings,
I'm having these weird problem with some Java windows, they have this tendency to turn black. Generally, all elements inside the window (text fields, buttons ect,) remain visible but everything else turns black. The problem affects both programs I write and others from the net. After a bit of investigating, I found it normally only affects windows that aren't resizable, but if it does affect one that is resizable, then maximising the window fixes the problem.

If anyone has any ideas about how to fix this, then I would be very thankful

    cheers

Do you call super.paintComponent(g) in the components that override this method (so the background will be painted)?

    kind regards,
