    No, no, no. This has been well debated, but I'll pit my GUI apps made with Eclipse, or heck created with Notepad against your NetBeans-generated GUI's any day. The NetBeans generated code will only potentially hamper your ability to learn and extend Swing, not improve it.

    true but if you have a lot of buttons, it is a pain to arrange to location of each button in eclipse. Unless there is a plugin that I am unaware of

    It has nothing to do with Eclipse nor NetBeans; it's a LayoutManager's job.

    You don't manually "arrange" the buttons, you let the code and the appropriate layout managers do it for you.

    If there's one thing I've learned:
    Try them both, and see what you like.
    Both of them are free, so you have nothing to lose.
    Some people like Eclipse, some like Netbeans.

    Personally I like Netbeans for PHP and Eclipse for programming Android Apps.

    It really is a personal choice, and who knows better what you like than you?
