some sort of "watch"?
I'm very new to Java, although I have been using C/C++ for programming for a couple of years now.
I have a perhaps pretty idiotic question regarding a "watch" option for C/C++. I used that a lot for tracking my variables when programs just didn't work and I was wondering if Java has anything similar. I searched online, but found nothing.
Watching variables is a debugger feature, not a language feature. The big Java IDEs (Eclipse, NetBeans, etc.) have debuggers, and if you're a real developer, you can use Java's jdb command-line debugger. It's very similar to gdb.
